Open Days
Our students demonstrated creativity, personal excellence, and impressive talent during the annual Art Show exhibition on Tuesday, May 16. It was wonderful to see our kids shining and feeling proud for their achievements, and our community on campus enjoying and celebrating creativity.
As Mr. Martin mentioned: Here in the school we educate creative and responsible global citizens.
Yes, Art, one of the required courses for all students, includes both Performing Arts and Visual Arts. Visual Arts, which includes Basic Art, 2D and 3D Art and Design, AP / Pre-AP Art, Introduction to Design, and Digital Photography, are all taught by international teachers. Benefits of studying arts include cultivating Creativity and innovation, enhancing self-confidence and presentation skills. As a medium for self-expression, arts help students to learn the crucial skill of understanding diverse points of view which helps them to learn empathy and compassion for others, as well as develop cultural awareness and appreciation. This goes a long way in improving students' artistic and aesthetic skills.
The various activities of DHS/DAIS are focused on display rather than competition, with no ranking or additional rewards, aiming to cultivate students' artistic thinking, stimulate creativity and enhance their knowledge of art. Such an atmosphere of self-presentation and self-expression stimulates students' sense of participation, and with the professional guidance and direction of teachers, students have more thinking and growth from them.
