Huamei elementary school held an Entrepreneur’s Day to give the children a unique entertaining and educational experience, where they were transformed into "little entrepreneurs". Montessori students also participated in this activity with their exquisite handcraft works. Individually or in small groups, students rented a booth from the school and experienced "market research", product selection, purchasing, booth design and sales. From the display of goods to the fonts and colors of the signboards, the children's ingenuity was present everywhere. This activity not only trains the children's financial intelligence, but also develops the children's ability to find solutions to problems, social interaction skills, leadership skills, and even guides the direction of the children in their future career choices.
Montessori students also attended the event with their amazing handcrafts. They placed their exquisite handmade necklaces and bracelets neatly on the table and competed with each other to attract customers passing by. Their enthusiasm was no less than that of the elementary students!
The principal of DHS-E, Ms. Melinda Alford presented a very encouraging speech: “ The road to success is paved with obstacles, setbacks, and failures. But it is in these moments that we must remember the wise words of one of the greatest minds of our time, Steve Jobs: ‘The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.’ This quote encapsulates the essence of our entrepreneurial spirit. We are the ones who dare to challenge the status quo, who refuse to accept limitations, and who strive to redefine what is possible. It is this audacity and refusal to conform that sets us apart.”
On the day of the event, we also invited Ms. Huiqin Li, a well-known female entrepreneur, to deliver a speech for us, in which she told the students about her own feelings as an entrepreneur, and encouraged those who aspire to develop in the business world in the future. Ms. Li, who is engaged in the sticker printing industry, said: entrepreneurial spirit is the sum of adventurous spirit, innovative spirit, unsatisfied spirit and heroic spirit; entrepreneurial ability is the comprehensive embodiment of organizational ability, decision-making ability, and diplomatic ability. When she was a child, she was particularly fond of stickers, grew up knowing that there are machines producing them, through market research, she found that this is a very good business opportunity. So she started to buy equipments, contact customers, and began her entrepreneurial journey. She said: learning is lifelong, learning is endless, only lifelong learning can help us with fearless future. At the same time, do not forget to keep healthy, find the time to exercise, to enhance physical fitness.
We would like to thank the key leaders of this event: Mr. Nicholas Wong, Ms. Vivian Liu, for giving the children a wonderful start to their summer break. We hope that you will bring with you the achievements and happiness of this year, and with hopes and aspirations for the new school year, and we will see you again!
