The dormitory held its second Hercules Cup Tug-of-War competition that helped mark the end of the first quarter of the school year. The competition attracted boarding students of allrs and students participating.
Before the start of the competition, the cheer-leading team of elementary boarding students led everyone to warm up.
Next was the exciting group competition, featuring both men's and women's categories. In this contest, groups of four participants competed against each other. The scene was burning high, and blood was boiling! There was a cheering leader teacher on the sideline. There were also teachers who rolled up their sleeves and helped them directly. The competition was in full swing.
The male participants were evenly matched, and the females also displayed their outstanding strength. After the 4-in-2 elimination, two formidable teams from each gender advanced to the final, pushing the atmosphere to a climax before the match. After fierce competition, Dormitory Room 231 group was champion for the men's groups and Room 335 group was champion for the women's groups.
Next was the mixed-group competition. Each group arranged the order of male and female participants based on their strengths to ensure maximum performance. Finally, in the deafening cheers, the powerful mixed group from Room 231 and Room 337 won the final championship with tacit understanding!
“The tug-of-war competition is something the boarding students look forward to every year,” said James Huang, Head of Boys of the boarding department. “It plays a positive role in improving students’ interest in physical exercise, enhancing the communication between teachers and students, and promoting teamwork spirit. It just makes boarding life more fun, and we'll continue this as our tradition."
