2024 Graduation Ceremony

This is a line from the speech by this year's outstanding graduate, Vivian Wu. She said, "Often, we give up our dreams for reality, but I hope we can stick to our dreams and use them to create reality." We hope the Class of 2024 will boldly pursue their dreams and build a better world! 

Teachers and principals each delivered speeches to the graduates. Their vision for the graduates is not merely about successfully graduating, landing a good job, or achieving future success, but rather about finding themselves. Dr. Swann, Head of School, mentioned that Sun Tzǔ, the sixth-century BCE Chinese military strategist, was speaking of knowing oneself when he wrote “Know your ground” in The Art of War. This wisdom can also be applied by our graduates.

The chorus and orchestra performance is also one of the most anticipated moments of the graduation ceremony every year. Peter Zhang, an alumnus who is now studying at Berklee College of Music, returns to Huamei annually to assist with the orchestra rehearsals and conduct the performance on-site. This year, he took it to the next level by creating the overture and processional music for the ceremony. It is the unique culture of the DAIS and Huamei community: Together is Better.
